At 6:00 AM, the night shift ends. At 6:02 AM, the day shift should be at their stations. Between those two minutes, a siren must sound — accurately, every day, without exception. If the person responsible is late, ill, or simply distracted, shift discipline breaks down and production suffers.

What goes wrong with manual shift change

Human dependency

One absent or late bell operator affects the entire shift. During festivals, monsoon, and night shifts, this is a recurring problem.

Inconsistent timing

Manual activation is rarely precise — shifts start 2–5 minutes late, which compounds to significant production loss across the year.

Wrong tone for wrong event

Using wailing (emergency) tone for shift change desensitises workers to real emergencies. Automated systems enforce correct tone discipline.

How to set up your schedule

Map your events

List all events: shift start times, shift end times, lunch break, tea breaks, monthly test drill. Typically 6–12 events per day.

Assign tone to each event

Straight-run (continuous) for shift start/end and breaks. Wailing (rising-falling) for emergency drills only — never for routine events.

Set duration

Standard: 15–30 seconds per event. Emergency drill: 3 minutes. Specify per event.

Programme the RTC controller

Enter time, tone, and duration for each event. The controller's real-time clock maintains accuracy through power cuts (battery backed).

Test and commission

Run a test activation of each event. Confirm siren sounds at the correct time and tone. Sign off the schedule — it now runs automatically.

Can I have different schedules for weekdays and weekends?
The standard controller uses one daily schedule that repeats every day. For separate weekday/weekend/holiday schedules, we supply the weekly programming variant — specify at order. No extra cost.
What happens to the schedule during a power cut?
The RTC keeps accurate time during power cuts using a battery backup (typically lasts 72 hours without power). When power returns, the controller resumes normal scheduled operation. Activations that occurred during the outage are not replayed.
Can I activate the siren immediately for an emergency — overriding the schedule?
Yes. A dedicated push button on the panel front triggers immediate siren activation. Duration and tone for emergency activation can be set separately from scheduled events. A remote emergency push button can also be wired to the controller.
We have 3 shifts running 24/7 — how many events per day is typical?
8–10 events for a typical 3-shift operation: shift 1 start, shift 1 end/shift 2 start, shift 2 end/shift 3 start, shift 3 end, plus 2 lunch breaks and 2 tea breaks. Well within the 25-event maximum.
Does it work with our existing motor siren?
Yes — the controller output is a dry relay contact. Connect this to your existing motor starter panel. Compatible with all motor siren sizes and brands.
