India's workhorse emergency siren

From 500 metres to 16 kilometres. 120–126 dB. Outdoor. All-weather.

Every major Indian industrial facility built in the last 50 years has a motor siren on its roof. The technology is simple, reliable, and proven — a rotating disc driven by an induction motor creates a mechanical wailing or straight-run tone that no electronic device can match for sheer coverage and penetration.

Motor sirens are specified in OISD-117, ERDMP, and most state factory rules as the primary emergency alerting device for plants above a certain size. If your inspector is asking for a motor siren, it is not optional.

Why the 5 km model outsells everything else

PC-MS-3D-500 — the Indian factory standard

Why buyers choose 5 km for a 2 km site

Most Indian factories between 5 and 50 acres site area order the 5 km model — not because they need 5 km of coverage, but because the 2× safety margin over their 2.5 km diagonal means the siren is clearly audible at the site boundary even against wind and ambient noise. We ship more PC-MS-3D-500 units than all other models combined.

Buyers ask us

How do I calculate the coverage I need?
Measure the longest straight-line distance from the proposed siren mounting point to the farthest point you need to cover. Add 50% safety margin for wind, buildings, and ambient noise. Select the model whose coverage radius exceeds this figure. Example: site is 1.8 km diagonal → add 50% = 2.7 km → order the 3 km or 5 km model.
Do I need PESO certification for this siren?
For installation in non-hazardous areas (outside Zone 1/Zone 2), PESO certification is not required for motor sirens. PESO certification is required only for equipment installed inside hazardous areas. For OISD-117 compliance, the controller and installation must meet the standard — the siren itself does not require PESO for surface industry applications.
What power supply does it need?
Three-phase 415V AC for all models from 1 HP upward. The 0.5 HP model runs on single-phase 230V AC. The CBS variant (PC-CBS-1D-500) runs on single-phase 220V AC with a capacitor-bank start — used where three-phase is not available but 5 km coverage is needed.
Can I control it remotely?
Yes — the siren is controlled by an automatic siren controller panel, which can accept inputs from: manual push buttons, PLC relay outputs, fire panel relay outputs, and our GSM remote trigger module (SMS from mobile). The siren itself has no intelligence — the controller decides the tone and duration.
What is the installation requirement?
Minimum mounting height: 10 metres for effective coverage. Three-phase power feed with appropriate MCB and motor protection relay. Earthing of the siren body. Concrete or steel mounting gantry capable of supporting the siren weight plus wind load. We supply the installation drawing, foundation design, and commissioning support.
How loud is 122 dB really?
122 dB at 1 metre is approximately as loud as a jet engine at close range. At 100 metres in open air, sound level is approximately 82 dB — clearly audible above typical factory ambient noise of 70–80 dB. At 500 metres, approximately 62 dB — audible in relatively quiet conditions. In practice, buildings, wind, and ambient noise reduce effective audible range to approximately 40–60% of the stated coverage.
